The Chinese government can allow accepting bets on the football events of the Chinese Super League (CSL) because of the growing popularity of football in the country.
According to Totally Gaming, Rory Anderson, the general director of the 12Bet bookmaker, has asked three Chinese officials associated with the betting business to estimate the CSL potential in the world market for sports betting. In addition, some executives of bookmakers believe that now there is a high probability that bets on CSL events will be allowed.
Currently, you can bet on the outcome of any league match, except CSL, in China. This restriction was introduced to prevent the spread of contractual matches and corruption.
At the same time, investments in Chinese football are growing every year, along with the salaries of CSL players and the number of their transfers to international clubs.
