The General Assembly of the State of Connecticut (USA) is considering the launch of a third casino due to the upcoming opening of MGM Resorts International, a major gaming and entertainment center, in the neighboring state of Massachusetts in 2018.

The third gambling venue should compete with the MGM gambling center and prevent the fall in profits of Indian casinos operating in Connecticut. According to experts, the projected losses may amount to $ 68.3 million.

The bill on the construction of the third casino is being considered in the House of Representatives of the state.

The US federal government can support the construction of a new Indian casino in Connecticut. A representative of the Department of Internal Affairs said that Donald Trump’s government supports the idea of expanding Indian casinos.

Currently, Indian tribes manage the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos as part of the revenue sharing agreement with the state of Connecticut. Indian tribes are planning to expand their business to East Windsor to compete with MGM Resorts International in Springfield.
