The concept of developing the gambling zone in Crimea will be presented in March. The project will take about two years to complete. This is announced by Sergey Aksyonov, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Crimea, the Sochi Forum.
The official also notes that one large Russian company intends to invest about 8 billion rubles (about $ 140 million) in creating the Crimean gambling zone. The name of the company is kept secret.
“I can not disclose the investor’s name, since it is connected with the sanctions regime,” Aksyonov said.
The investor will begin to implement the project for the construction of the Crimean gambling zone this year.
The proposal to open a gambling zone in the Crimea was submitted to the Russian parliament in March 2014, within the framework of creating a special economic zone. At the moment, the authorities of the peninsula are searching for the best place to host a casino. The territory on the South Coast is most likely to be chosen.
