The Macau Association Of Gaming And Entertainment Promoters (MAGEP) has launched a central database which allows to trace the credit history of each customer of local junket operators. This was stated by Kwok Chi Chung, President of the Macau Association Of Gaming And Entertainment Promoters, on Tuesday, December 27, 2016.
“During the setting up of this database, we’ve been communicating with the Office [For Personal Data Protection] and it knows how our system operates,” Kwok said.
The credit database will help Macau gambling promoters to identify players who have outstanding credit debts with other junket operators. According to Kwok, the innovation will be in accordance with the former Portuguese enclave’s personal data protection rules.
The database will allow junket operators to check the credit history of a customer, excluding the possibility of access to information not linked to the issued loans.
Access to the database will be limited to members of the MAGEP such as Tak Chun Group, Suncity Group Limited, and Guangdong Group Limited.
