The New Jersey General Assembly has issued a resolution calling on US President Donald Trump to withstand attempts to enter the United States government’s federal ban on online gambling.
Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions has announced his intentions to assess the 2011’s regulation and debate the federal position to approve online gambling. In response, the New Jersey General Assembly’s member Vincent Mazzeo asked the newly sworn-in president to oppose federal ban on the industry.
The resolution stresses that the federal prohibition would negatively impact New Jersey by dismantling the investments that the State and Atlantic City casinos have already made to implement online gambling.
As a reminder, this month Hawaii Legislature began its consideration of a bill SB 677, provides for the legalization of all types of online gambling except sports betting. The Hawaii online gambling bill is not much different from the gambling legislation passed in other US states.
