PaddyPower, the Irish bookmaker, appeared in the scandal center because of refusal to pay a prize at the rate of £21,7 thousand to a client. The player named Charlie put £7 thousand for a victory of Monaco football club in the Borussia Dortmund match which took place on April 19.

The Monaco team beat the German rivals with the 3:1 score. For Charlie the victory of football players of the principality meant a prize of £21,7 thousand as the odds were 21/10.

However, the bookmaker cancelled Charlie’s bet explaining it due to a limit excess on the deposit from the player.

Charlie tweeted: “Done Monaco to win. @paddypower cancel bet with the explanation deposit limit exceeded but they have taken the bet #Disgrace”.

The screenshot of his open bets shows the match in question and the thousands of pounds he thought he had won.

Charlie’s message was retweeted by 4,6 thousand Twitter users, gained 2,9 thousand likes, and also generated a huge number of comments, calling PaddyPower to pay the bet.
