Philippines authorities intend to conduct investigation the activities of casinos owned by billionaire Jack Lam. The authorities suspect that the casino mogul may have avoided tax payments. The investigation was initiated by the national president Rodrigo Duterte. In particular, Dutere noted that Lam’s casinos have been paying taxes only for bets set by local players, but not for foreign ones.

Jack Lam is CEO of Jimei International Entertainment Group, one of the biggest global casino operator in Asia. The news on the investigation came just a few days after the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) granted Jack Lam a perpetual gambling license.
