The administration of Primorsky Krai sent the proposal to include a Free port and Primorye gambling zone to the pilot areas for introducing of Tax Free and duty-free trade to the Ministry for Development of Russian Far East. The proposal was prepared by the regional administration together with experts and investors of the gambling zone.
Experts believe that this privilege will allow intensifying the development of tourism in the region. The idea of creating a free trade zone in Primorsky Krai was disclosed by Vladimir Miklushevsky, Governor of Primorye in June last year.
‘Implementation of a pilot project in the gambling zone will boost tourist flow and increase tourist attractiveness of the region as a whole,’ Miklushevsky underlined.
Let’s remind that in January 2016 G1 Entertainment, an investor of Tigre de Cristal casino in Primorye, announced plans to open a second gambling venue in the region. The total project cost is estimated to be $500 million.
Primorye gambling zone is located in the resort area on the bank of the Ussuri Gulf on the bank of the Formic bay. On November 11, 2015 there was the grand opening of Tigre de Cristal Casino, the first of the eight casinos planned in the gambling zone. Due to the low population density in the region and its remoteness from major cities, Primorye focuses mainly on gamblers from China and Japan.
