The Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc and his cabinet has approved a plan to develop of gambling industry in the country. The new bill, authorizing the construction of four to five casino resorts will come into force in early January 2017.
By the end of 2018, Vietnam will be host six gambling resorts, 50 hotel electronic gaming lounges, gaming salon at the departure level of its seven international airports, and seven small casinos for foreign tourists. The Government of Vietnam plans also legalize the sports betting.
“Vietnam, after years of wrangling its hands whether to open up the gaming industry, has finally reached important decisions and allowed international investors to come in one of the last fertile gaming lands in Asia,” commented to the press Augustine Vinh, CEO of investment firm Stellar Management.
